The Osiris Conflict

FAQs

Q. What happened to "Starfighter: Disputed Galaxy"?
A. I have stopped supporting it. The game has had hacker problems for a long time and eventually someone managed to delete all the user accounts and break the game. After a couple of attempts to fix it and a a lot of complaining from people I have decided that it was taking too much of my time. So I have removed the disputedgalaxy.com website and removed the game from my site. If you really want to play though, it is still running on Kongregate, but with all multiplayer/chat features removed. I do have plans to make an better, bigger more secure sequel sometime down the line.

Q. When will SFDG2 come out, and will it be free?
A. I'm not sure and it will be a while yet as I have several other projects to do first. All of my games will be free to play, but might have some "premium" content that you can buy with real money e.g. some different ships & weapons... or something..

Q. What do you use to make your games?
A. I use adobe flash. Most online games use this these days, although some use other technologies like silverlight, java, Unity3D or HTML5 (javascript). To find out more about flash, have a look here: http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/

Please see my blog post here for more info on how to get started making games

Q. Can you make a multiplayer Crunchball 3000?
A. This would be very cool, I agree. But I fear that the action in crunchball is too fast paced for it to work well as a MP game, and slight lag would result in lots of confusion (players disappearing, tackles not working etc) and this would mean lots of unhappy players and therefore a low rated, low perfoming game.

Q. What are the cheats for Warlords: Call to Arms?
A. There are no cheats for Warlords: CtoA, there were during development to allow me to test later levels without having to play the whole game everytime. The cheats have since been removed, but the box to enter them hasn't

Q. What are the cheats for <insert game name here>?
A. Have a look on the forum for game cheats, I have posted some of the cheats for older games there. Just so you know, I have not put any cheats in the multiplayer games as this would be unfair. I did at one point have my own personal ship in Quadrant Wars, but one day I logged in and everyone had one!

Q. Will you ever make...

  • Dragon Fist 4?
It may be a possibility. I would like to do it, but we shall see...
  • A Multiplayer Warlords?
I tried this with Warlords 2, and while it did work and was fun, older slower computers caused syncing problems so I decided to abandon the feature.
  • A Starfighter: Disputed Galaxy sequel?
I have started this as a side project and it is coming on, but will be a long time beofre release
  • Warlords: Heroes 2?
This is pretty likely. I would like to make "Warlords: Heroes and Villains" which would still include the old episodes but have 3 new ones and have new graphics, and more units and generally more stuff.
  • Crunchball 4000?
Its hard to think of ideas for a crunchball sequel, but I have a few. We shall see

Q. What games are you working on at the moment
A. Check out the forum called Future Game/Games in Development for details of what I am working on

Q. What happened to Dragon Fist 1 & 2
A. they can still be found on the internet. Play Legend of the Dragon Fist here , or Dragon Fist 2: Battle for the Blade here

Q. What are the fighting styles in Dragon Fist 3?
A. The styles in the game are loosely based on actual fighting styles, but often more influenced on movie versions of the actual styles. I didn't put the names in as I knew there would be people out there that would claim that the styles were not accurately portrayed. e.g. The style with the elephant pic is Muay Thai/Boran but is much more designed around being like how Tony Jaa fights in Ong Bak which doesn't really have all that much in common with what Muay Thai Fighters actually do. Since the game came out I have had lots of emails from people claiming that the game is inaccurate, but on the whole they haven't really been correct and tend to be more along the lines of "Bruce lee doesn't really fight like that, in real life he would destroy everyone else easily, and why is he called Mr Lee?" - i.e. missing the fact that a) its a game and therefore characters have to be balanced b) Its not bruce lee in the game, but a character that bruce lee portrayed (in enter the dragon) and c) all these martial artists are supposed to be the top ones ever, some real some fictional. In truth I think some of the great warriors from chinese history who have had lots of experience in battle and beaten some great people in combat, would probably beat bruce lee who is mainly famous because he came to america and had a big part in introducing chinese martial arts to the west.

Anyway here are the styles:

  • Wing Chun
  • Shotokan Karate
  • Muay Thai/Boran
  • Tiger Kung Fu
  • Snake Kung Fu
  • Drunken Boxing
  • Jun Fan/Jeet Kune Do
  • Mantis Kung Fu
  • Tai Chi Chuan
  • Shaolin Long Fist
  • Monkey Kung Fu
  • Bagua Zhang
  • Eagles Claw Kung Fu
  • Deadly Dragon Fist Kung Fu (fictional - invented for the game)
